Lava Shell Massage in Chichester

Lava Shell massage uses heat from the shells to massage and helps the muscles release deeply held tension. It's relaxing, reinvigorating and greatly enjoyable for anyone with tense muscles. It can be either used as a full body treatment, neck & shoulders or adapted to your needs.

The clamshells have been harvested for food in the Philippines for hundreds of years, in the past, these shells would be thrown away, however, they are now recycled and used for Lava Shell massage.

The techniques used by our massage practitioners have been developed to ensure effective and efficient results are gained from each massage. The Lava Shell Massage may:

  • Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Assist in the removal of metabolic toxins
  • Relax your body
  • Soothe muscle tone

The Lava shells are heated, then your therapist will begin the treatment, first applying organic coconut oil (works best with the shells), helping achieve smoother stroke. She will then press and massage the heated Lava Shells onto key points in your muscles to relax and release your tight and tense areas.

Our Massage Therapists will be able to identify anyone for whom Soft Tissue Therapy would be ill-advised or detrimental to their short or long-term wellbeing. They will assess each individual and provide the appropriate massage techniques, and advise on alternative action if required.
